The Demise of Steve Irwin

Like everyone else, I was saddened by the death of The Crocodile Hunter. Sad, yes. Surprised? No.

Folks, his name is Crocodile Hunter. His death is only "shocking" because it took so damn long. I watched the show (not often, it's true, but I did watch it), and it consisted of Steve saying (insert Australian accent): "Cripes, that vicious lion/snake/rabid bear nearly got me!" I am amazed he survived as long as he did.

Let us mourn him, for he was funny and insane. But let us not misremember his life. He defied death for a living, and we know that because it got him in the end.
